From 13 to 20 June 2026, Holismos invites you to experience a special Yoga Holiday in Morocco, in the beautiful setting of Essaouira, where ocean, nature, yoga practice, excursions and traditional cuisine come together in a deeply nourishing retreat.
The Holismos Yoga Holidays Project
The Holismos Yoga Holidays project was launched in 2014 with the aim of promoting holidays and training in yoga and other activities related to personal growth, enjoyment and well-being.
Over time, a range of options has been developed, including yoga weekends, retreats, holidays and training courses, always with great care in selecting special places where beauty and nature can regenerate, nourish and bring joy.
Holismos has been organising yoga holidays in Morocco for several years and, along the way, has built many friendships and a deep love for the country and its people. More recently, the discovery of Essaouira brought a new sense of wonder: for the town itself, for the food, and above all for the natural beauty, power and energy that the ocean brings to this extraordinary coastline.
Essaouira: history, atmosphere and ocean energy
Essaouira, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an exceptional example of a late 18th-century fortified town, built according to the principles of contemporary European military architecture in a North African context.
Since its foundation, it has been an important international trading seaport, linking Morocco and its Saharan hinterland with Europe and the rest of the world.
Its large working port is lively, intense and deeply atmospheric. Alongside the flurry of sea-blue wooden boats arriving and departing, nets being repaired and the day’s catch being landed, visitors can also see traditional wooden boats being made.
The local boatbuilders supply fishing vessels for the entire Moroccan coast and even as far as France, thanks to a design that is especially seaworthy. The fish auction, which takes place in the market hall just outside the port gates, is also well worth a visit.
Tazgha House: a retreat by the sea
It is not easy to describe the first impression of Tazgha House. After hiring a car in Marrakech and travelling for several hours, the place reveals itself gradually, until its beauty becomes fully clear.
Imagine staying in a beautiful house located about 300 metres from a vast beach, slightly elevated and surrounded by green pastures, in a landscape that feels more like Ireland than Morocco. From here, the ocean view is impossible to ignore. You can feel the power of the Atlantic Ocean, and every night you fall asleep to the sound of the waves.
The owners, Malek and Naima, are lovely people, and Naima’s cooking is said to be absolutely top-notch.
A haven of comfort, relaxation and authentic Moroccan charm
Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Morocco at Tazgha House, a tranquil retreat nestled within a one-hectare farm with breathtaking sea views.
This three-level property, adorned with Moroccan flair, offers a haven of relaxation and cultural immersion. Just steps from the Atlantic breeze, the retreat centre blends comfort, community and authentic Moroccan charm.
